Anaerobic Digestion (AD)

Is a natural biological process where organic material is broken down by bacteria. It is similar to composting but differs in that it takes place in the absence of oxygen. The process occurs naturally in swamps and bogs and also takes place in landfill sites.

This is biological material derived from living, or recently living organisms. In the context of biomass for energy the term usually means producing heat by burning plant materials such as wood, straw or vegetable waste materials.

Wind Turbine for your farm

If you own a dairy farm, sheep farm or poultry farm which has the land to site a wind turbine then you can generate your own electricity from wind power. Wind turbines can have their output directly connected to the existing mains electricity supply, which means that the energy produced by the turbine can reduce the energy drawn from the supply. If you produce ‘more than enough’ energy, then it is possible to export energy and sell it to the electricity supplier.

Is electricity generated by the production of power through use of the gravitational force of falling or flowing water. Small in-flow hydro is relatively cheap and can be cost effective especially where it meets local electricity demand. Making a profit will depend on the flow and head available, the cost of the installation, and the cost of grid connection.
